Resurfacing Update |
|
|
As the netball courts are not available for use this Saturday 19 July, the Kittles Netball Competition games have been abandoned. A nil all result will be recorded for the scheduled games. The scope of the works is much greater than first expected and so additional work has had to be done!
The A grade games will be played at the Alice Springs Basketball Stadium at the times as scheduled in the draw.
Club representatives will be advised via email once the courts are available for training.
Four courts will be available for competition on Saturday 26 July. The committee is currently working on a revised draw that will involve 10 minute quarters for all games (except A grade). It is proposed that Net-Set-Go commence as planned and the draw will include all scheduled games from the 9's through. Once the playing format and the draw have been finalised clubs will be notified and the draw published.

Umpiring News |
|
|
UMPIRES THINK TANK!
Many people are concerned about a number of umpiring issues. These include (but are not limited to)the number of duties that their teams are receiving, the general apathy towards umpiring ("the I only play netball!") and the attitude of players toward umpires.
To begin to address this issues and to make a plan for the future of umpiring in our Association the ASNA is hosting an Umpiring Think Tank on Sunday 20 July from 2pm-4pm at the Pat Gallagher Netball Clubrooms.
All badged umpires will be invited to attend as are Club presidents and a club representative. If you have an interest in this issue please join us at this all important meeting.
RULES IN ACTION
Thanks to Kylie Bell and Sue Wallace who are attending the Rules in Action discussion in Darwin this weekend on behalf of the ASNA. The discussion will cover the interpretation of the new netball rules - the ASNA will follow this up with a discussion later in the weeks to come.
LEARNER UMPIRES
The ASNA has organised learner umpires vest for new umpires to wear - this is optional. This will make players aware that you are a beginner umpire and encourage players to be supportive and understanding as you gain greater confidence with the whistle. The learner umpire vests will be available soon from the netball clubrooms.
WHITE SHIRTS PLEASE....
Can umpires please wear a white shirt for their umpiring duties. This is really important so that we can see the umpire amongst all the uniformed players!
