Netball Stadium Construction: Urgent information regarding site safety Print E-mail
2448-4 court perspective front view_large.jpg

As you may be aware, there was an exciting announcement from the Northern Territory Government that the new four court stadium is to be constructed. Scope Building NT have been awarded the contract and in order to have the stadium open for Masters Games, they will be commencing work on site after Easter.

Carparking during construction:

The netball precinct car park will be unavailable during the course of construction of the stadium as it will become part of the work site as denoted by the Plan.  The Plan shows the temporary work site fencing in blue.  The Plan is an indicative plan only and may be subject to change.

The Church car park and Ross Park Soccer car parks will be available for players, coaches and spectators during the season.  As you may need to park further away from the courts, we advise you to allow yourself some extra time to get to your match on time.

Disabled Car Parks will unfortunately be unaccessible during construction as they form a part of the work site.  Please make alternative arrangements, such as being dropped off at the access gate, should mobility be an issue.

Important: Alice Springs Town Council have not allowed any concessions for car parking during construction and Rangers will be enforcing ALL regular car parking regulations in place.  So to avoid fines, please park at the Church or Ross Park soccer car park.

General Construction Site Information:

Noise and dust

Scope will be working all week to have the stadium ready in time, so there is to be expected some noise and a small amount of dust from the construction site.

Scope will however try and keep noise and dust to a minimum during matches and dust suppression measures will be implemented to alleviate this issue.

Construction times

Scope will be on site working during the week and on weekends.

We ask that everyone using the Courts either on match days or training please remember that it is a construction site and that noone is to enter the construction site without approval from Scope.

Children should be reminded that the construction site is dangerous and that the fences should not be climbed on or played with in any way.  Please be vigilant with supervision to ensure everyone including the workers remain safe at all times.  If you have concerns please speak to one of the ASNA Committee members.

Smokers should note that they will be able to continue to utilise the normal area and a bin will be installed for butts.

The Committee ask for your patience particularly in the first few weeks of the new draw, as it will be an adjustment for everyone - however it is a very exciting time for Netball in Alice Springs.
