Playing four consistent quarters earned Federal Eastside Red a 50-43 win in the Alice Springs Netball Association Division 1 preliminary final against Wests Epilogue on Saturday. Federal scored 13 goals in three quarters and 11 in the third. Wests won two quarters, the second and third, when it scored 14 and 13 goals respectively. There was only one goal the difference at the final change, but it was Federal which came out firing winning the final stanza 13-7.

Brooke Wilson was the outstanding player of the final slotting in 40 goals for Federal. She had strong support from Tegan Hatzimihail in the circle while Crystal Dixon and a combination of Charlotte O'Neill, Jayla Shacklady and Grace Muir ensured ball supply from the centre third. Wests two shooters, Matilda Hurben and Kathleen Axten, shared the side's 43 goals more evenly but had to battle against the Federal defenders Izzy Ross, Carly Wilson, and Amelia Napier. There were good
performers for Wests in Katie Hannah, Ebony Miller, and Margaret Smith but their efforts were outshone by Wilson's accurate shooting.

The Division 2 preliminary final was also an interesting game with Rovers Complete Construction in control against Seasons Flinders University after a match-winning second quarter when it scored 11 goals to six. Ĺ”overs eventually ran out 38-32 winners.

Wests Footy Girls won the Division 3 preliminary final 37-31 against Wests Ward Keller. Giants Dreamers dominated the first and fourth quarters of the Division 3 preliminary final on the path to a 38-29 against Wests Loco Burrito.

Rovers Ravens defeated Giants Bark "n' Bath 47-36 with a strong finish in the 17-and-under preliminary final.

The grand finals begin at 10am on Saturday with the Division 1 final climaxing the day from 5pm.
